You’re about to follow the footsteps of the legendary (and notoriously eccentric) Baron Bartholomew von Buuren. The Baron was a 19th-century naturalist, artist, and snack enthusiast who vanished in 1899. He left behind no gold, no jewels—only 7 postcards he sent from 7 epic spots he discovered, the final, tantalising postcard said:

‘To whoever finds this: I have not vanished. I have simply perfected my existence. I have discovered the ‘Secret to the Cape’s Best Life,’ and I repeat it often. If you are clever enough to follow my perfect day, from my first admiring glance to my final toast, you will find my greatest treasure. I’ve left a trail of postcards. Don’t get lost.’

🕣 Duration: Half day to a full day if you do not rush! Take your time at each point to soak it in! The drive without spending time at the sites take 3 and a half hours.
